Making the Most of Mobile
Workshop in Cambridge University on 24 September 2012
We plan to have a workshop on Internet on the Move on Monday Sep 24 in Cambridge, 9am-6pm in the Computer Laboratory.
The high level purpose is to end up sharing information to see how to achieve better performance for the mobile wireless user by looking at a variety of technical improvements, including bonding and merging of services through a range of techniques at all layers of the protocol stack.
The outcome should be to evaluate user, technical or business barriers, and if so, how they can be overcome. Stakeholders from industry (equipment and service providers, as well as the measurement community), academia, regulators and users are invited.
The goal is to mix these technology companies, researchers and ideas together covering the three obvious broad themes:
Technology
Users Applications and
Security/trust
Business Ranging from "free" (paid by advertising, council, brokered) to paid-for multi-SIM operation
The format of the day will be to alternate speaker sessions in the lecture room ( 4 sessions of 2-3 talks each ) with poster/demo sessions - ending the day with an industry led panel.
We expect anywhere from 25-100 people. If you are interested in participating as attendee or contributor, please e-mail:
