DESCRIPTION:Dr Chris Mitchell was most recently a Director of audio research for Meta (Facebook) – Reality Labs Research following the acquisition of his company Audio Analytic (as featured in Wired\, Forbes and The Times)\, which he founded in 2010. He was listed in the top technologists globally in voice/sound by Voicebot.ai and is the holder of 31 filled and granted patents. Chris is an internationally published author\, and an accomplished speaker (Bloomberg\, CES\, WebSummit). Following the completion of his PhD in AI sound information systems and signal processing\, Chris received a prestigious Kauffman/NCGE Fellowship to investigate the commercial implications of his research and completed a short spell with Cisco Systems in San Jose\, USA. \nAudio Analytic was founded during his fellowship and Chris went on to guide the company through funding rounds (raising $25+ million)\, growing it to 50 people\, building it into a leading AI company that worked with  household names such as Amazon\, Google\, Meta\, British Gas and others. The company was acquired by Meta (Facebook) in 2022 and he went on to direct the European side of the audio research group within Meta and ran the Virtual sound research initiative predominantly.  \nBig thanks to Basck for sponsoring this event!\n \n\nCome for the talk\, come for the food\, come for the connections!
