Mark is CEO at Grant Instruments, a globally renowned manufacturer of scientific equipment and instruments, based in Royston near Cambridge.

A biochemist by training, after an early lab career in pharma R&D Mark has spent thirty years in commercial roles with science-related companies. He has done business around the world, including some less-visited countries such as Venezuela, Libya, and Russia, where he set up a local subsidiary and learnt to love okroshka (cold, fizzy soup).

He has been at Grant since April 2020 and has seen the company weather both Covid and the subsequent commercial life science roller-coaster. He recently oversaw the sale of the company to local investment consortium Royston Instruments, in which he is also an investor. The company is now executing aggressive growth plans and developing innovative new products.
